Fear Not, You Are Protected

Yesterday I learned that the purpose of mucus is to trap viruses and dust from entering your system, and thus that is where boogers come from. A little graphic I know, but it was from this that I began to think this morning as I was meditating…I was sick a few weeks ago and when I get sick I always hate that feeling when I can’t breathe because my nose is clogged with mucus, or the airways are just closed. But I realized, that discomfort occurs because my body is protecting me.

Our bodies were designed to protect us. God revealed this truth to me as I was meditating this morning on the fears on my heart about being vulnerable, the desire to resist discomfort. God was showing me, there is nothing to fear here. Even in the discomfort, you are being protected. Your heart, is cased within the body that was designed to protect. You are protected.

There are so many verses in the bible where the Lord commands us to fear not, but today I want to dwell on Joshua 1:9.

Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

So God, I thank you for your word and the numerous times it is written to fear not. The numerous times you promise to protect me and be with me. It is with this confidence that I continue on in the unknown. For you will not leave me or forsake me. You have designed me and purposed me for a time such as this. Rest on my heart oh God, as I lean on you. Thank you for using me. I trust you will use this word to reach exactly who you have intended. May you get the glory. In your son Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
