Day 8

When God has a plan, are you frightened by the storm?

I did a lot of reflecting over the retreat, and one thing I kept praying last night was that God would never let me forget that duck I saw pushing through the icy part of the frozen over lake yesterday. Why? Because I realized that duck was me. Pushing through, struggle, strife and obstacle determined to make it to the other side.

At first, I didn’t know why it had to be me. But I didn’t see the clear path made behind me because I kept breaking through. It’s bigger than me. It’s for the ones who follow after me.

And now I rest, like the duck after breaking through that last bit of ice, wading in her victory.

No matter what it looks like or feels like in the moment, victory is on the other side, SO DON’T GIVE UP!
