“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass”
When our phone sends that notification that the battery is low, we’ll be quick to turn it on low power mode to preserve it until we get it to a charger. And we desperately seek a charger or make sure we plug our phones in.
But what about when our spirit is low? Do we get connected to the source? The same urgency we have to save the battery life on our phone we should have toward saving our spirit. It is the battery of this earthly vessel. The thing that gives us energy, morale, will.
And when we plug in we shouldn’t be trying to use it still. You know, like when you’re on your phone even when it is charging because every notification is so urgent? But that’s what was killing the battery in the first place – overuse without frequent power connection.
So just rest in the presence of God. There is a freedom, a prevention from burnout when you just rest.
And don’t go too long without getting plugged in…
